Extended Product Management

The extended production MRP module extends the production facilities provided in the standard BOM module to allow for multiple stages of production and multiple issues of components.

Detailed costs can be entered against a production run as required and all production costs are posted against work in progress (WIP) accounts until they are either returned to stock or the finished product is receipted to stock. WIP postings are available by bill, production and components. Categories can be set up for bills, production runs and components. WIP posting rules are determined by one or more categories, and groups within the categories determine posting accounts.

Demand Analysis

Product demand is based on open sales orders and sales projections. A work order is created in AMS to manage the production of products from components based on orders received or anticipated demand for the product.

The demand analysis MRP module analyses product requirements in ABM by examining sales quotations, orders, deliveries, invoices, job quotations and other production runs to produce recommendations for required work orders.

Supply Analysis

One of the most critical and time-consuming aspects of manufacturing is maintaining sufficient but not excessive amounts of raw materials and components at all times. The AMS supply analysis MRP module helps manage the material requirement planning process. The module simplifies and speeds up the work processes of purchasing by analysing component demand and taking into account lead times for an inventory item.

With the supply analysis MRP module users can produce reports based on "action by" date to advise the purchasing manager which orders need to be placed or can automatically raise purchase orders.

Job Costing

Each production run can be linked to jobs in the ABM Accounting Software job cost ledger and can receipt finished products back to jobs.
