Background
Gouge Country Services started out as a small dry cleaning company with a single laundry and has grown to service over 45 tons of laundry per week, making it Victoria 's largest privately owned laundry outside of Melbourne . Gouge employ 65 people, and are based in Mooroopna, just outside Shepparton, an area that is famous for its quality fresh and processed fruit and dairy products. Gouge's business growth has been principally to commercial clients in health care (hospitals), packing plants and motels. The Problem Health care clients need to order the cleaning needs of each department for the following day. All orders were taken by phone and fax and can take up to 40 hours per week in data entry to process these. Gouge were looking for a solution that would reduce this workload, at the same time increase customer satisfaction by providing a seamless integrated solution to their BM accounting system. Gouge wanted to shift the method of order receipt from the phone and fax over to a web based ordering procedure. The major efficiencies to be gained are to help keep hospital costs under control, and give them better service than the competition. The Solution Gouge, with their dealer Godfrey Deane, implemented the BM Web Orders module. Web orders are used by their customers - the hospitals - to place the cleaning orders. Each area in the hospital places its own orders, and the data collected by Gouge enables not only timely delivery of the laundry service, but also costing for each point of utilisation in the hospital. This added value enables Gouge to provide cost control information that none of their competitors can match. Gouge are looking forward to getting a 1/3 of their clients over to using Web Orders which will save between 15 to 20 hours per week WebOrders will work for you too: You already have all the information in your BM or Advanced Business Manager software to go live on the internet.
