Structured Stock for ABM

Structured stock is designed for business whose stock requires a style, colour, size structure. Structured Stock was developed based on the needs of businesses such as textiles, clothing, footwear and fashion accessories industries in particular.

Because of its open design, Structured Stock is usable in many other industries such as timber, bicycle and accessories distribution, spectacle frames, carpets and the plasterboard and paper industries.

Style/Colour/Size Model
Structured Stock caters for businesses whose stock requires a "segmented" structure. A common structure (for instance where clothing is sold) uses Style/Colour/Size as its segments. In ABM you would set up your product types with each collection containing such segments (colours and sizes).
Each style is broken down into multiple segments in this way, so that when orders are placed, each style is shown as a matrix of Sizes and Colours. There is no limitation on the length of any individual segment, as long as the total stock code length (the sum of the segment lengths) is no longer than 25 characters.

Styles
A Style is a collection of stock items in Structured Stock which will contain one or more Colours and Sizes. All Styles are attached to product groups, which determine which general ledger account is affected by stock transactions. Similarly, each Style is allocated to a Size type and a range of Colours.
ABM's powerful pricing matrix is available for each style.

Colours
Generally Colours and Sizes are required (and in some instances other dimensions such as width, fitting, etc.). Typically, a number of Colours would be attached to each Style.

Below is a screenshot from Structured Stock for ABM:

Sizes
Sizes are grouped together and can be named for convenience. For instance, the Sizes: 00, 02, 04, 06 and 08 may be collectively known as the "Children's" Size range. Accordingly, when you create a new style, you simply attach the Size range to it, rather than all the individual Sizes that would normally make up that group. You are not limited to using Sizes in the traditional sense. A Size in Structured Stock is simply an attribute that is attached to a Style.

Barcodes and EDI
Structured Stock has support for EAN barcode stock codes. EAN check digits are automatically generated and checked, and barcode tickets can be printed on most printers with native Windows drivers. Structured Stock is also fully integrated with the EDItech EDInterpreter module to provide full EDI and Scan-and-Pack compliance with major retailers including Myer.

NobleMatrix Structured Stock

Advanced Business Manager's apparel software stock module is a powerful Style Matrix system designed for the Textiles, Clothing, Footwear & Fashion Accessory Industry and other businesses whose stock fits within the Style, Colour, Size, Season model.

Early in 1995, the first version was released. Rather than mimic other structured stock systems for the fashion industry, we thoroughly researched this important industry and developed a powerful but easy to use system based on our customers’ requirements. With new customers, NobleMatrix structured stock evolved to meet their specific requirements. Today, NobleMatrix structured stock is an extremely powerful solution well suited to the Textiles, Clothing, Footwear & Fashion Accessory Industry.

NobleMatrix apparel software caters for businesses whose stock fits within the Style/Colour/Size model. For example a specific product type, such as a shoe, is referred to a Style. This product can be stocked under many colours and sizes.

In Advanced Business Manager's Apparel Software, a Style is represented in a spreadsheet like grid called a Matrix. Each Style is broken down into multiple stock items represented by the intersection of Sizes and Colours. Primarily suited to the clothing and footwear industries, Noble Matrix Apparel Software will also suit any business whose basic stock items can be further classified into attributes. For example: Noble Matrix Apparel Software has been successfully implemented in the following industries:

  • Plasterboard/drywall distribution
  • Food including Sauces and Condiments manufacture and distribution
    Bicycle and Accessories distribution

Many other industries are suited to this model including the Timber, Carpet, Computer Software and some service based industries that rely on charging different rates for different services.
